Head coach Tommy Blackshear said via text that Tift was to force turnovers against the Hornets and get layups. “That helped our scoring output,” he said.
Torrance Galmer led the change with 23 points. Tyler Parker contributed 16.
Friday, both boys and girls are home again, taking on Camden County in Region 1-7A battles.
The Lady Wildcats are 5-10, 0-2 in the region following a 53-30 loss at Lowndes last Friday. Camden has dropped five consecutive games.
Camden’s Wildcats are 8-9, 0-1 in the region, pending a Tuesday make-up game against Colquitt County. COVID issues on Colquitt’s behalf forced the postponement.
Currently, Tift is scheduled to host Coffee Saturday before playing at Lee County Jan. 25.
