Soccer splits at Lee

LEESBURG — One game into the 2022 season, the Tift County boys soccer team already has a clean sheet.

The Blue Devils shut out Lee County Tuesday night, 2-0.

Goals came from Alex Cardoso and Manny Marin, according to head coach Bobby Earls.

Tift shut out eight opponents during the regular season in 2021.

Lee County’s girls won their match, defeating Tift 7-0.

Both Tift soccer teams will be home Tuesday to take on Crisp County. This will be the first meeting of the teams in more than a decade. Game time is 5:30 p.m.
