CHULA — The regular season ended Wednesday for Tiftarea Academy baseball. Now, they wait.
The Panthers are all but assured of making the postseason, but who they play and where they will play is up in the air.
The last rankings on MaxPreps suggested Tiftarea will be a No. 9 seed, but that is not final. If they stay in that slot, they will have to travel for first-round games next week.
Southland Academy won a 5-0 contest from the Panthers Wednesday to finish the regular season.
Tiftarea outhit the Raiders, 7-6, but were unable to put a crooked number on the scoreboard.
Jackson Gray doubled in the game. Pitching duties were split between Hayden Matthews and John Jackson.
There was an incredible play during the contest. Catcher Winston Lamb dove across home plate to tag a runner trying to score.
