NASHVILLE — Berrien golf finished at the top of the heap recently at the Area 1 golf tournament at Adel’s Circlestone Country Club.

BHS shot 327 as a team to win the championship by three strokes over Macon’s ACE Charter and Thomasville. Head coach Lance Trowell said the score was a season low for the squad.

Bray Moore’s 80 topped a Berrien group that saw Jonah Barber fire in an 81, Logan Rowe at 82 and Eli Keffer shoot 84 to count towards their total. Jake Moody and Jaxon Walker each carded an 89.

The area field consisted of nine full teams.

By winning area, Berrien qualified for the Class A, Division I championship, which is set for May 19-20 at Arrowhead Pointe Golf Course in Elberton.

Trowell said his team has had top-10 finishes this year at the Bacon Raider Invitational and Valdosta’s Dynamite Goodloe tournament.
