Still some nice youth
This is a rave for a young man who assisted me in getting to my car at Wal-Mart on Wednesday, Aug. 1. I don’t know his name, but he knows who he is. He admired a medallion I was wearing and he was very polite. I would like to say that I am glad there are some nice young people still around.
Share the wealth
Yes, I was calling in reference to Tuesday’s rant about the $24,000 man and the $42,000 man. I don’t find it hard to understand the mathematics of the question, but I find it hard to understand why they don’t just give the money from the $42,000 man to the $24,000 and under man because the $42,000 man is making almost double what the $24,000 man does, and I am sure they worked just as hard. That is what I don’t understand.
Wrong comparison
As far as expenses for ex-presidents is considered, Cal Thomas forgot to mention that the rent paid on Ronald Reagan’s place is about five times that of Bill Clinton and also the cost of his library was very, very high. So compare those two.
School concerns
I think the biggest concern that parents have today with kids starting back to school is the exposure to drugs in our area. This really concerns me as a parent of a 13-year-old and a 15-year-old. Thank you.
No barking
I used to have dogs but I got rid of them because I was tired of the dog poop and the barking. Now my neighbors have dogs and I still have to put up with the dog poop in my yard and the barking. We need a county ordinance against dogs barking.
Don’t stand for it
I see where a Democrat over in Alabama is wanting to place the words of the speech by Martin Luther King along beside the 10 Commandments. Well, regardless of how great you might think he was, no person on this earth other than Christ should have any part of religious sayings next to the commandments. Now, as far as King was concerned, I have a feeling he was more of a politician than religious, but that is my personal opinion. I don’t think people should stand for it.
Quit fussing
I think we need to quit fussing about the ugly flag we got. There is nothing we can do about changing it, but we can all fly our own flag. If they change our flag, we can fly our own. Do like I am doing. Have you a flag made and fly it with all their names on it so we will know who not to vote for when it comes time for re-election.
Done deal
Yeh, I see in the paper where they had a big article about only four people showing up for the meeting about the millage increase, well, when you have it at 10 a.m. in the morning that is when most people are working. What difference is it going to make anyway? They have already voted on it and finalized it. Thanks.
Dry or not?
Yes, is Tifton really a dry county or not? If we can allow the people to walk up and down the road drinking beer and sitting all outside drinking beer, then what is the difference in allowing them to have liquor to drink inside their homes regardless of the persons’ age, religion, or whatever, it is a disgrace at how the police ride by and see people sitting outside drinking beer and does nothing.

I would like to give a rave for Auto Zone in Tifton. I was stranded Saturday afternoon with a dead battery in one of the shopping lots. I called them, and within 20 minutes they were there and put it in for me. Thanks especially for the young man named Chase who did that.
Do something positive
Thanks for publishing the little saying: Great people talk about ideas. Average people talk about things and small people talk about other people. My husband used to say this and I recently tried to get him to recall it. Isn’t it a shame that some people are so small that all they do all day is gossip about others. Even little children. They will take something negative that has happened and use it to give them something to do all day and some of these people profess to be Christians. Why not volunteer or do something positive?

I just want to say to all the bigots out there, the Georgia flag has been changed and just like the sout
h, it ain’t gone ever rise again, so all you bigots out there get over it. It has been defeated and it is never going to rise again. Thank you.
