Awesome band

“I’d like to say congratulations to the Berrien High award-winning band. They were awesome in Hawkinsville, scoring all 1’s and superior ratings. Congratulations to the band, to the dance line and to the flag girl. Girls, you just keep up the good work… I’d say you all were the best there.”

Finally!

“I live on Murray Avenue and it’s hard for me to believe that it has finally been repaired. We can go through. All the people in Tifton need to know that. It’s been closed since Dec. 25.”

The other side

“This is in response to ‘Customer service?’: You’re right, some people do have a rude attitude and uncaring customer service, but some customers come in with rude attitudes also. They bring their problems to us. And that rule about the customer is always right should be thrown out. Thank you and have a blessed day.”

Good idea

“To the Ranter about football officials: I like what the new coach at Cook does. If there are questions about any call on the field, the coach sends the game film in along with a letter to the Georgia High School Association. This keeps the officials on their toes.”

Who’s to blame?

“In response to the Rant on the underage daughter buying beer at the same place three times: I would question what you have been teaching your child. Evidently not that laws are made to be followed. Rather it seems you feel that it is always ‘someone else’s fault.’ Ever think that she might be illegally using a fake ID to possess something that she is not legally allowed to have? But, of course, ‘blame the stores.’”

Miss you, Valerie

“I want to give a Rave for Valerie at Ole Times. She’s no longer there. You will be missed.”

Be careful

“I agree, CityNet is a disaster, but if it is sold, insist that it be to another cable TV enterprise, not Mediacom, without competition, as in Albany…”

You get what you give

“In regards to today’s paper where they’re talking about the people not being very polite in their restaurants: My wife and I visit most restaurants in town. We hit all of them… I must say we get treated with real respect and courtesy everywhere we go, so there must be something wrong. I guess people expect courtesy without giving any. If you give a little courtesy and try to help the people that wait on you a little bit by giving a decent tip, well, you’re going to get courtesy and friendship, I’m quite sure.”

Thanks, officers

“This is a big thank you to the officers that provided security at the birthday party for the 13-year-olds Saturday night. Thank you very much to Officer Reese and Officer Eddie Smith.”

Some ‘blocked’ out

“The new idea at Tift County High School for Blue Devil Block is an excellent idea. The problem is, its implementation is leaving out about two-thirds of the students.”
