TIFTON — Walmart officials announced plans to renovate the Walmart store on Tift Avenue by the end of the year.

The store, located at 1810 Tift Ave. N., is one of 20 stores in Georgia that are slated for the remodel, according to a press release from the company Wednesday. Another will be the Sylvester store at 1102 E. Franklin St.

The updates will include a new look with big, bold signage; more selection with expanded departments and new items; expanded online pickup and delivery; and a new approach to the pharmacy with wider aisles, a private screening room and privacy checkout areas.

“Our stores often serve as the heartbeat of the communities we operate in, and these remodels are a testament to our dedication to enhancing that role,” said Nick Berkeley, Walmart Senior Vice President for the Southeast Business Unit. “By investing in our stores and associates, we are not only improving the shopping experience but also reinforcing our commitment to being a vital part of the community’s fabric, helping to build a brighter future for all.”

This year, Walmart has set an ambitious goal to remodel more than 650 stores across the U.S., including the 20 stores in Georgia, the press release said. Prior to 2025, Walmart invested more than $1.1 billion to upgrade stores throughout Georgia in the past five years.
