ALBANY — Tift County track had two individual winners at last Saturday’s Alice Coachman Invitational.
Nairobi Graham won the 400-meter dash and Jordan Gaskins took the gold in the 300-meter hurdles.
Graham was more than a second faster than anyone else, running 57.37 seconds. Fifty runners competed in the event across 10 heats. Besides the 400, Graham was sixth in the 200.
Gaskins ran the 300 hurdles in 42.28 seconds. Tyrique Wallace ran in 46.21 to earn fifth.
In addition to the 300 hurdles, Gaskins finished the 110 hurdles in 16.02 seconds, earning second place. Owen Davies and Russ Benton were both in the top five in the 3,200. Davies was second in 10:18.72 and Benton fifth in 10:30.14.
Tift’s boys were 2nd in the 4x-800 in 8:49, not quite two seconds off Lee County’s first place. The Devils also had an eighth-place team in the same event.
Also finishing in the top 10 in their events were:
— Girls 100: Diamond Wallace (5th).
— Boys 400: Myron McTear (9th).
— Girls 800: Ilianna Cleveland (7th).
— Boys 800: Anthony Falotico (9th) and Jaxson Hughes (10th).
