Tift-Lowndes doubleheader postponed

TIFTON — Tift County High baseball is just looking for one day of sun.

Friday afternoon, their Region 1-7A doubleheader against Lowndes was pushed to Monday. Rains Friday and even more predicted for Saturday are behind the date change. Game time Monday is 4:30 p.m.

The Blue Devils had been originally scheduled to host Lowndes Friday, but with a wet Friday forecast, the series was switched south to hopefully take advantage of Lowndes’ artificial turf field.

This is the second consecutive region doubleheader Tift has had to postpone. Last Friday’s series at Camden County will be made up in April. Rain was behind that change, too.

The Blue Devils are currently 11-1 on the year, their most recent victory being Monday at Valdosta, 13-5. That game had been bumped up from Tuesday for weather reasons.
